How to edit my texts?
Double-click on any texts to edit.
How to remove the doodles in front of and behind some titles?
The doodles are similar to a font character – so you can just select them and then use your keyboard key Delete to delete them.
How to move texts boxes?
Click on the middle of a text box to select the whole text box. Then you will be able to move it around the canvas.
How to delete and add new text boxes?
- Click on a text box to select the whole text box. Then click on the “Delete” button on the text editing toolbar or on “Delete” button on your keyboard to delete the text box.
- Create a new text box with the size and style of an existing text box by clicking on the text box you would like to copy and then clicking on “Clone Object” button on the top text editing toolbar.
- You can also click on the “Text” option on the left panel to add a new generic text box.
How to resize a text box?
Press the “Alt” key (“Option” key on Mac) on your keyboard and pull at the same time on one corner of the text box to resize it while keeping the same aspect ratio.
How to change the size of the fonts?
Select the text you would like to edit. Then change the size of the font by rolling down or up the “Size” button on the top text editing bar
How to change the font?
Select the text you would like to edit. Change the font by rolling down the Font Selection menu on the top text editing bar
How to change the color of my texts?
Select the text you would like to edit. Change the color of the font by clicking on the Color Panel on the top text editing bar
Which color can I use to simulate a “faux-gold” color?
You can change the fonts to any color you would like, be it a color from the color panel or by entering a unique color code. We recommend the color code “#BFA127” and “#DDBB4A” for a faux-gold effect. You can find more color codes for additional color choices here: https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel
TEXT ALIGNING OPTIONS
How to align my texts?
This option will align the texts one to another
- To align multiple text boxes: select all the text boxes you would like to align with “Shift” keyboard button and “Left click” on your mouse. Then select one of the texts aligning options on the top text editing bar.
- To align the texts inside one text box: Click and select the text box. Then select one of the texts aligning options on the top text editing bar.
How to center my texts?
This option will center a text box to the canvas. Select the text box you would like to center by clicking on it. Then click on the “Center Horizontally On Canvas” button on the top text editing bar.
How to use the grid to align my texts?
If you have lots of text blocks (for a seating chart for example) and would like to align and distribute the text blocks evenly across the canvas, you can use the Grid Option. Activate the grid with “Display grid” button under “Ornament” on the left panel. Then select the text blocks to move and align them one to each other on the grid. If you have a background you can set the background opacity to 0% under the “Backgrounds” menu in order to be able to see the grid.
I can’t find all the fonts?
If you are using a smaller screen, the Scrolling button for the font selection may be hard to see. Please see the screenshot below to find it, then you will be able to roll down this button to see more fonts.
My fonts look different from each other?
If you want to add new text blocks with the same size and font than the ones you already have, we would recommend selecting the text block you would like to copy, then click on the “Clone Object” button on the top text editing bar. If you use “Add new text” option on the left bar, it will create a generic text block that may look slightly different.
My texts are difficult to read?
Some fonts look better and crisper with smaller text size than others. We offer a large selection of fonts, so if you don’t like how a font look like, you can change it.
I cannot move some text boxes anymore?
It’s likely that the text box has been “Locked”. Use the “Unlock Object” button on the top toolbar to unlock it.
Can I add more fonts?
We have to buy copywrights and work with the codes of the app to add new fonts on Cardcanva, so it’s a long process and it’s not possible to add specific fonts to the app. We are however always adding new fonts to choose from!
